Age category: 15 to 18 years and 19 to 24 years
The competition consists of two parts:
- Exhibition of finished works
- Production of a competition entry on a given topic, demonstrating mastery of artistic and technical craft techniques (topic announced by the jury on the day of competition), optionally supplemented by the participant’s self-presentation
Part A – Exhibition of Finished Works
- Participants submit 5–7 (up to 15) finished original works of decorative art in materials such as clay, stone, metal, textile, bone, birch bark, etc.
- Each work must have a label in English or Russian (10x10 cm) including title, artist's name, country represented, year, technique, and dimensions
- Works for the exhibition are submitted with a triplicate list compiled by the participant
Part B – On-site Work
- Participants perform the competition work using basic techniques in the chosen medium, along with their own materials and tools
- Working time: 5 hours (with a break)
- Mini-presentations are allowed (oral, portfolio, or electronic)
- If complex equipment is needed, participants provide a video recording on USB showing key stages
- Application must specify execution technique, list of works submitted, dimensions, and equipment requirements
The winner is determined based on combined scores from the exhibition works and the on-site execution.
Main evaluation criteria: compliance with characteristic features of the artistic craft, mastery of technical techniques, artistic imagery, and originality of the solution to the competition theme.
